Our Story
My name is Fadi Alherbawi, a Palestinian artist born in Kuwait and raised in Gaza. My journey with embroidery began in childhood, when I was captivated by traditional Palestinian dresses worn by women across different regions of Palestine.
One of my earliest memories goes back to my grandmother, who came from the village of Hamama, located near the city of Al-Majdal. She used to wear a traditional thobe that carried the spirit of the land she came from. I often found myself staring at the stitches and motifs, trying to understand their meaning. When I asked her about them, she told me something that stayed with me: every stitch carries a message, and every pattern holds a story. That sentence shaped the way I view art to this day.
Although I studied finance and banking, I always kept my passion for art, calligraphy and Palestinian heritage alive. Over time, I learned that embroidery is more than decoration. Each Palestinian city and village has its own stitches, its own visual language, its own identity.
From a Story to a Product
Today, our website presents a single special product a t-shirt designed by me and inspired by authentic Palestinian embroidery. It was launched internationally and received a beautiful response from different countries, proving that Palestinian identity can be worn with pride and carried across borders.
This t-shirt is more than fabric. It is memory, heritage and voice.
A Responsibility from the Heart
During the recent war on Gaza, my family home was destroyed, including the house I built with my own hands. That changed the meaning of this project. A large part of the profits now goes directly to support my family in Gaza. Through this work, we hope not only to rebuild what was lost but also to keep our culture alive, one stitch at a time.
What’s Next?
This is just the beginning. New collections inspired by Palestinian embroidery from different cities and villages are being developed, each one carrying a story from Palestine to the world.
Wear the story. Carry the heritage. Let art become a voice.
